This is my prime squirrel-watchin' post. I like to yell at them as they sneak up onto the steps to snack on the pumpkin that Daddy left there. Um, Daddy, Halloween was like a month ago.

He's watching football on the big new TV that he and Mommy got. Sure, Daddy, just sit there and relax while I clomp around in this gigantic boot. Don't worry about helping me. I got this. I was helping Daddy push my stroller when we were at Muscoot Farm--I think it was a sign that I'm ready for a baby brother or sister! Daddy doesn't think so.
And here I am being cute in the kitchen. I love to get into the cabinets with all the pots and pans. Mommy and Daddy still haven't locked one of the cabinets--but I won't mention that to them...it's way too much fun!

Hi all! Sorry I've been so bad about posting new videos and pictures. Mommy went back to work (boo!) and nobody seems to have much time to help me w/ my posts after I wear them out every evening. Anyway, here are a few of my latest things--though most of these things are about two weeks old...now I can walk pretty well on my own. I don't really like to crawl anywhere anymore--crawling is for babies!

It's my birthday! Hard to believe that I'm already a year old, huh? Mommy and Daddy got me some great presents -- some cool books, and my very first doll. And then they took me to Friendly's, and I had a grilled cheese and some ice cream! Delicious! Although Mommy and Daddy still made me eat some fruit and vegetables, even on my birthday... I didn't see any other kids eating spinach and watermelon there. Anyway, what a day! I'll post some pics from my party soon. In the meantime, here's a pic of me enjoying my Cone Head sundae!

Sorry for the little blog hiatus there, guys. I've been busy over the past month. I have a few more teeth now, I'm eating more foods (I think I eat more vegetables than Mommy!), and I've gone on trips to Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Maryland! I've now been to eight states! It's been a busy summer for ol' Annabel J -- but I'm back!

Have you guys ever played Peek-a-boo? It's this great game where you hide your face and Mommy and Daddy get really worried and say stuff like "Where's Annabel? Has anyone seen our baby girl?" and just when they think you're gone for good, you pop up and laugh and laugh, and Mommy and Daddy squeeze you and say, "There she is!" And then you do it all again three seconds later! It's awesome!

You know what else is awesome? Exploring new places, like this really cool cave I found...

So, sometimes I rub my hands in my food and then I rub them on my face--see??? It's fun, but it makes Daddy a little crazy- he always thinks I'm going to get pink eye again.

And I'm really into everything these days....the cabinets, the dishwasher, magazines, cell phones, pretty much everything that's not for babies! Oh, and Daddy's beer, too!

Here I am in Maryland w/ Grandad and Mom-Mom (well, really my GREAT Mom-Mom). I had a great visit...I especially love all of Grandad's jewelry!

And this is me back home trying chicken...Mommy and Daddy have gotten smarter since then and now they mix the chicken w/ something delicious like sweet potatoes--I eat it up!

I was trying to help Mommy with dinner...the fridge is at the perfect level for me!

Well, our town pool is open, and I imagine it will be lots of fun when the water temperature gets above freezing! Daddy and I walked around in the water a little bit, but I wasn't happy when he sat me down (his feet were numb, so imagine how my little buns felt!). Mommy and Daddy said that the baby pool will warm up in no time--so I'm sure I'll be splashing around in there in another couple of weeks! Here are a few shots from my first outdoor pool experience (sorry about my runny nose...that's daycare for you!)

This was hard work today. But now I'm all bundled and warm with Mommy and I'm ready to go home and nap!

Last week I went to visit my friend Riley and look what she taught me to do!!! She's a few weeks younger than I am, but she pulls herself up all the time! We had so much fun playing together--we banged some toys, went on the swings and just hung out!

Some of you might have heard that I recently started crawling! It's very exciting and Mommy and Daddy seem to love chasing me around! Ha! I wonder if they know what they're in for! They got some video of me and have been trying to upload it for a week or two now--and Mommy just realized that maybe it's too long. Soooo....they'll have to see if they can catch me in action another time! For now, enjoy a few new pics...I think they're pretty self-explanatory. The cool yellow guy was all made out of Legos...I went to a museum with Mommy and Daddy that was full of cool stuff made with Legos--I sure wish there wasn't a "no touching" rule at museums!

Well, after Grammy spent all week in Newport singing this sweet jam "Clap, Clap, Clap" to me, now I can clap!! Mommy and Daddy say I'm awfully young to be doing this, but I'm hoping that with a few more tricks like this, they'll let me into Mommy's school next year so I won't have to go to daycare!! Spriiiiiing Breeeak!

Mommy and Daddy were on Spring Break, and Grammy and Grandad were, too, so we all met up in Newport, Rhode Island for the week! It was a blast (but cold)! We went for lots of walks, and we even toured one of the big mansions there. It belonged to some guy named Vanderbilt. It was pretty nice, I guess, but he needs a Jumperoo or two. I liked to grab the fancy curtains and look out the windows. Then we went to Block Island (note to self: don't go to Block Island in the winter), and Providence, too. I got to spend a lot of time with my Grammy and Grandad, and we read lots of books. I also helped everyone with their NCAA picks (sorry about that Georgetown recommendation, Daddy!).

Mommy and Daddy signed me up for swim classes! We go every Saturday. I'm learning to swim at the same pool where Mommy learned! I like the water. It's warm, and it's fun to splash around in it. I even got to use a kick board! (although I'm not sure why, really. I mean, I'm seven months old. What am I gonna do with a kick board?).

With all the excitement of the last month (eating solids, sitting up...you know, the big stuff), I forgot to post a pic from my playdate with my new friend Riley! Her mommy and daddy are friends with my mommy and daddy. They used to live across the street from each other in a place with a funny name...Manayunk! HA! Man, that'll never get old. Anyway, they all came to visit us last month and Riley and I had a great time. We mostly just rolled around next to each other, and Riley was kind enough to let me chew on her fingers for awhile. Yum!

It snowed today, and Mommy's school was closed! Daddy had to go to work, though. Stupid New York City and their efficient methods of snow-removal... Anyway, I had a nice day with Mommy and I even got to go outside and sit in the snow. Something deeply interesting must've been taking place directly to my left, because I wouldn't turn toward the camera when Mommy was trying to take my picture outside.

I love Fridays because that's when Mommy's People magazine comes and she lets me read it with her. I especially love Star Tracks...the stars are just like me!!! But what the heck is up with Britney these days?

I was actually sick this week--but I wasn't nearly as bothered by it as Mommy and Daddy were. I had the same cough as everyone at daycare... we're all so good at sharing! I sound like a little baby dragon when I breathe, but when Mommy and Daddy try to teach me to clear my throat, I just laugh at them! I'm getting better now... Mommy was hoping she'd have to take off from work to take care of me, but no such luck!

I had my first taste of solid food this weekend! I gotta say, it was pretty awesome. These 'spoons' that you guys use? Very efficient. I'm sticking to rice cereal for now, but once I get a few chompers I'll really be in business. Daddy suggested that I add a few drops of hot sauce to my cereal, but I think I'll hold off for now.

Playdate with Bella

My friend Bella came over to play today! We had so much fun. I let her play with (and chew on) my favorite toys, and I even gave her the keys to my trusty Jumperoo. She stuck around until I started getting sleepy and had to go upstairs for a nap. Come back anytime, Bella! Next time we'll break out a few bottles, maybe share a teething ring or two... really get wild and crazy.

Raise your hand if you woke up at 4 a.m. today! And yesterday! And the day before! I did! I did! And keep your hand up if, at that ungodly hour, you wanted to play! Me again! Mommy and Daddy think I'm waking up earlier now because I'm teething. Or maybe I'm starting to get hungry more-often. Or maybe they have no idea. Regardless, I'm not saying a word. I think I'll let them try to untangle this little mystery all by themselves… (Oh, and don't worry -- I don't really sleep on my pack 'n play like this... heck, Mommy and Daddy don't even let me use a blanket when I sleep.)

Wooo-hoooo!!!! I was successful in my mission to get Mommy and Daddy sick so they'd stay home with me yesterday!!! I also started daycare yesterday, but Mommy and Daddy picked me up early so I could go home and take care of them. It's only fair, I figure, since they were there for me when I was barfing. Mommy is home with me again today and we're just hanging out, watching Ellen... actually, Mommy never lets me watch tv -- I try to, but she turns me away so I can't see it. I just want to see Ellen bust a move... is that too much for a baby to ask?

Well, Mommy and Daddy are sick. They caught it from me, I think. Luckily, I have my trusty Jumperoo to keep me occupied while they lie on the couch, moaning about their tummies. Check me out! Big news, guys! I rolled over from my back to my stomach! I've been rolling from my stomach to my back since I was a baby (I started doing that a few weeks ago), but on Thursday night I was at my friend Bella's house and I decided to go from my back to my stomach! I wanted to be a big girl in front of Bella. She's twice my age, you know, and she's really cool. She can sit up on her own and everything. Man, what I wouldn't give for better torso control...

I had a pretty rough day yesterday, guys. It started out well. I had a nice visit with Pop and Noni while Mommy and Daddy went out to lunch. We went for a walk (which put me right to sleep) and then we played together when we got back to the house. When Mommy and Daddy got home, I had some lunch of my own and then I took a nice, long nap. But in the evening, I started feeling pretty lousy. I threw up a bunch of times and I got really sleepy and weak. Mommy held me as I barfed, and Daddy wrapped me in a blanket to keep me warm. But through it all, I hardly ever cried. Daddy said I'm tough. Oh, and to top it all off, the Redskins lost to the Seahawks. Daddy was not happy. He kept yelling at the TV. I don't think they were listening to him, though. So I survived my first stomach bug and my first Redskins playoff loss. Hopefully that'll be the last of both.... not likely, I know.

So I was lying in my crib the other night, alternately talking to myself and trying to escape from my Swaddle-Me, when I had a sudden revelation: You know what the world needs more of? The musings, witty banter, and unbiased opinions of a four-month-old. In an age of 24-hour news coverage from countless sources, who can you trust? Annabel, that's who.
